Lancaster Central Market

Writer's picture: hylandm1hylandm1

Lancaster's Central Market dates from 1889, but markets have been active at this location since the 1730s. The current market house, designed by James H. Warner, is an excellent example of Romanesque Revival style municipal architecture. The roof, supported by steel rod Howe trusses, shelters 20,000 square feet of space for vendors hawking that delicious Pennsylvania farm produce.
